David C. Bricker Three Springs PA David C. Bricker, 66, who was formerly of Seven Valleys, died Friday May 3, 2013 at York Hospital following a brief illness. He was the husband of Linda A. (Adams) Bricker, with whom he celebrated a 47 wedding anniversary this past September 18. A viewing will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at the Seven Valleys Community Fire Hall, 35 Main Street, Seven Valleys, where Military Rites by the York County Veterans Honor Guard will be held at 4:45 PM and a prayer service being held at 8:00 PM with Chaplain Pastor Bill Reed. Funeral services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. The Geiple Funeral Home, Inc. 53 Main Street, Glen Rock is in charge of the arrangements. David was born on March 12, 1947, a son of Margaret C. (Yost) Bricker of York and the late Harry J. Bricker. He was a 1965 graduate of Spring Grove High School and had been employed with Columbia Gas Company for 31 years, working his way up to a Safety Director until his retirement in 1999. Following his retirement he also had worked at Twin Pine Farms. He was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and had received the Purple Heart for being wounded twice while serving in Vietnam. David was a life long member of the Seven Valleys Community Fire Company, where he served as Fire Chief for over 13 years and as Treasurer for many years. He had also been in charge of the fire company’s Bingo for over 35 years. He also helped to start the Tri-Community Ambulance Club in Seven Valleys, running with the ambulance of several years. He was also a member of the Orbisonia VFW Post # 321 and a former member of the Austin L. Grove American Legion Post #403. He was also an avid hunter, fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Besides his wife and mother, he leaves a daughter, Heather L. Kurtz and husband, Jason of Conifer, CO; two sons, David C. Bricker Jr. and wife Stephanie of Spring Grove, Bryan A. Bricker and wife Julee of York; six grandchildren; Mackenzie, Chase, Branson and Brielle Bricker and Charlee and Jack Kurtz; two sisters, Darlene M. Sanders and husband Steve of Spring Grove, Irene L. Shoff and husband Prett of Felton; a brother, Richard L. Bricker and wife Carolyn of Spring Grove and a sister-in-law Jean Bricker of Seven Valleys. He was predeceased by a brother Kenny S. Bricker.
