Dale L. Smith

On Sunday, June 2, 2024, Dale Leon Smith, 86, of Glen Rock, passed away at home after a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Linda L. (Miller) Smith for 63 years. Born on July 18, 1937 in Yoe, he was the son of the late Dallas and Luella (Fake) Smith. He proudly served his country in the US Army, serving in the Signal Corps and also doing a 13 month tour in Korea during peacetime.

Dale worked for AMP / Tyco, Inc. for 31 1/2 years. After retiring in 1997, he became the Sexton of Trinity United Church of Christ in Glen Rock and continued that role until his passing. In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling with his wife, Linda. They traveled all over the continental US; Hawaii; Alaska; Panama; Canada; and the Caribbean.

Dale was a charter member of the Glen Rock Historical Society; and a member of the Glen Rock American Legion Post #403.

Dale is survived by his wife, Linda; two sons, Randy Smith and Todd and wife Amy Smith; two grandchildren, Alex Smith and Ryan Smith and fiancee Kirstin Huster; three siblings, Doris Wise, Dallas Smith, Jr. and wife Kay, and Dorothy Kyle and husband Gene; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings, Glenn Fake and Darlene Parkinson.

A public gathering will be held from 10:00am until a memorial service begins at 11:00am on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Trinity United Church of Christ, 27 Manchester St., Glen Rock, PA 17327.
