Clyde R. Landis

Clyde R. Landis York New Salem Clyde R. Landis, Sr., 87, of York, passed away on Wednesday February 10, 2016 at his home. He was the husband of the Arlene D. (Harget) Landis. The couple was married for 69 years on June 8, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday February 14, 2016 at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main Street, Glen Rock with Rev. Jerry L. Beers officiating. Burial will be in Zion Shaffer’s Church Cemetery, Seven Valleys. Viewings will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Saturday and from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Landis was born on January 28, 1929 in Jefferson, a son of the late Harry C. and Beulah V. (Miller) Landis. Clyde had worked for Eshelman Feed Mill, Cole Steel for 19 years, Glen Rock Borough, Mowery Plumbing, and Schaad Security Agency. He was a member of the Hanover Wesleyan Church, a Charter Member of the Susquehanna Powder Horns Association, and was also a Boy Scout Leader for Troop 151 in Hanover Junction and was a member of the Boy Scouts Order of the Arrow. Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Roxann M. Thoman and her husband Claude of Dover, and Dorcas E. Miller and her husband Gregory of Spring Grove; four sons, Clyde R. “Butch” Landis, Jr. and his wife Barb of Dover, David E. Landis and his wife Karen of Glen Rock, Larry L. Landis and his wife Sherrie of York New Salem, and Neil L. Landis and his wife Melinda of New Freedom; ten grandchildren; two step grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; seven step great grandchildren; a brother Dan M. Landis and his wife Loretta of Seven Valleys; and a sister Annie J. Selby of Dover. He was predeceased by four brothers, Robert, Arnold, Harry, and Cornelius Landis; and grandchildren Jordon, Allison, and Erin Landis.
