Clara A. Raver

Clara A. Raver Glen Rock Clara A. (Spiese) Raver, 93, of Glen Rock, passed away Monday April 20, 2015 at her home following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of Paul R. Raver, with whom she celebrated 74 years of marriage on August 24, 2014. She was born in York on October 15, 1921, a daughter of the late Daniel F. and Lida M. (Bruggerman) Spiese. Mrs. Raver retired from the Seven Valleys Garment Company, where she was employed as a seamstress for over 30 years. She was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ, Glen Rock and of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Austin L Grove American Legion Post #403. Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Barbara A. Metzler and her husband Don of Glen Rock, two granddaughters, Staci Kapinos and her husband Steve of Ashburn VA, Whitney Krosse of Dallastown; grandson-in-law Brett Krosse of York; six great grandchildren, Darrian, Ashley and Ryann Kapinos, Lane, Reed and Bryn Krosse; nieces Karin Roser and Mary Bovender and several other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Loretta Sciotti and two brothers, Lawton Spiese and Alvine Spies. All services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. The Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main Street, Glen Rock is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Visiting Nurse Association of Hanover/Spring Grove, 440 North Madison Street, Hanover Pa, 17331.
