Charlotte R. Klinedinst New Freedom Charlotte R. (Shearer) Klinedinst, 84, New Freedom, died Sunday, December 13, 2015, at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Donald R. Klinedinst. Funeral service will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, 175 E. Main Street, New Freedom with Pastor Thomas G. Shelley officiating. Viewings will be held 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at Geiple Funeral Home, Inc. 53 Main Street, Glen Rock and from Noon to 2 PM on Thursday at the church. Following cremation, interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Mrs. Klinedinst was born August 26, 1931 in Jacobus, a daughter of the late Ray S. Shearer, Sr. and Katie I. (Herman) Shearer. She worked as an assembler for Black and Decker, Hampstead MD for many years having retired in 1978. Charlotte was a member of the New Freedom Rose Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary having served as president for over 40 years and was President Emeritus. She also ran with the New Freedom Ambulance. She was one of the founders of the Penn-Mar Organization, where she was an active volunteer and had worked for many years. She was a member of St. Paul’s Independent Church, Millers MD and TOPASYC theater productions in New Freedom. She won the WGAL Jefferson Award and was an avid sports fan, watching the sport teams in Baltimore and enjoyed reading. She is survived by her children, Gregory D. Klinedinst and his wife, Deborah of York, Vickie S. Whitacre of York, Denise R. Bailey of Loganville, and Neil T. Klinedinst of New Freedom; grandchildren, Penny Fourhman, Michael Thompson, Matt Klinedinst, Jan Augburn, Pam Klepper, Jen Tracy, and Bill Whitacre; siblings, Gail Parrish of New Freedom, Joan Bollinger of Jacobus, Peg Miller of York, and Steve Shearer of Manahawkin, New Jersey; 20 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren. Charlotte was predeceased by a granddaughter, Susan Whitacre. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rose Fire Company, 200 E. Main St., New Freedom, PA 17349 or to Penn-Mar Organization, 10671 Susquehanna Trail South, Glen Rock, PA 17327. Condolences may be shared at geiple.com
