On Friday, June 14, 2024, Charlotte E. "Betty" (Hare) Pierce, 92, passed away at Homewood at Plum Creek in Hanover. She was formerly of Ephrata before moving to Homewood at Plum Creek in 2019.
She was the devoted wife of the late Edward C. Pierce before his passing in 2012. Betty was born on January 18, 1932 in Shrewsbury Township to the late Earl J. and Lottie E. (Miller) Hare. She graduated from Glen Rock High School in 1947, then became an Executive Secretary with AMP, Inc. for over 44.5 years at various locations before retiring in 1997.
Betty was a member of New Hope "Fissels" UCC, where she attended Adult Sunday School, served on various committees and was the church organist for over 30 years.
Betty is survived by four step-children, Bruce E. Pierce and wife Chris, Jeff E. Pierce, Bonnie Ritzman, and Barbara Camp and husband Brian; nine step-grandchildren; and numerous step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and one brother, Clyde Hare.
Public visitation will be held on Saturday, June 22, from 10:00am until a memorial service begins at 11:00am at New Hope "Fissels" UCC, 3426 Fissels Church Road, Glen Rock, PA 17327. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Julian Hall will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory are recommended to New Hope "Fissels" UCC, PO Box 25, Glen Rock, PA 17327.
