Charles M. Miller Seven Valleys Charles M. Miller, 71, of Seven Valleys, died Friday, October 4, 2013 at his home. He was the husband of Patricia A. (Ryan) Miller with whom he shared 34 years of marriage. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at Zion (Shaffer’s) United Lutheran Church, 4535 Shaffer Road, Seven Valleys, with his pastor the Rev. J. Thomas Shelley, STS presiding and the Rev. Carl Folk preaching. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A viewing will be held from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM Monday night at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main Street, Glen Rock and Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the church. Mr. Miller was born in Codorus Township on March 20, 1942, the son of the late Wilson L. and Edith (Mosebrook) Miller. Charles graduated from Susquehannock High School in 1960 and went on to receive a bachelor’s degree from Gettysburg College, and attended the Gettysburg Lutheran Seminary. He was a Captain in the Third United States Army, having proudly served in the Vietnam Era. He was employed as an aerospace mechanical engineer for Westinghouse/ Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems, Baltimore, for 31 years retiring in 2008; he was a fellow engineer and received the Presidents Leadership Award, among many other awards. Previously he was employed at RH Sheppard. He also was an inventor and developed the flat sorter and anthrax detection equipment for the U.S. Postal System, among many other patents. Mr. Miller was a member of the Menges Mills Historic Horse, Steam, and Gas Show, and the Hanover Community Singers. Besides his wife, Charles leaves behind, a son, Ryan M. Miller of Seven Valleys; two sisters Edna M. Sterner and Ilene M. Ruppert, both of Hanover; and a brother David L. Miller of Harleysville. He was preceded in death by a daughter Andrea S. Miller-Neiderer; a grandson Blaise A. Neiderer, and a sister Lois M. Greason.
