Charles E. Becker Spring Grove Charles E. Becker, 75, of Spring Grove, died Tuesday January 21, 2014 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Janet A. (Delp) Becker, with whom he would have celebrated a 57th wedding anniversary on February 9th. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, January 27, 2014 at Zion Shaffer’s United Lutheran Church, 4535 Shaffer Road, Seven Valleys, with his pastor the Rev. J. Thomas Shelley, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Viewings will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 PM on Sunday at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc. 53 Main Street, Glen Rock and from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Monday at the church. Mr. Becker was born in York New Salem on October 18, 1938, a son of the late Martin L. and Mary V. (Snyder) Becker. He graduated in the class of 1956 from Susquehannock High School, Glen Rock. He was employed as an Electrician with the P.H. Glatfelter Company, Spring Grove, retiring in 2001 after over 43 years of employment. He is a member of Zion Shaffer’s United Lutheran Church, where he served as President of Church Council and helped with the church addition. He also was a member of The Jefferson Sportsmen’s Association for 54 years, where he served as president 1986-1987 and held every office with the association. He was member the Jefferson AARP Chapter #3699, the NRA, and of Jefferson and North Codorus Fire Companies. He also had assisted with the Jefferson Carnival for many years. Charles also leaves three sons, Dennis C. Becker and his wife Sheila of Red Lion, Bradley E. Becker and his wife Beth of Littlestown and Samuel M. Becker and his wife Tina of York; six grandchildren, Adam, Ethan, Brianne, Braden, Aaron and Caleb; a sister Joan L. Messinger and two brothers, Dean M. Becker and Larry L. Becker, all of Spring Grove. A daughter, Joyce E. Becker and a brother, Donald E. Becker, preceded him in death. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jefferson Sportsmen's Association, P.O.
