Carolyn P. Snyder

Carolyn P. Snyder Seven Valleys Carolyn P. (Appleby) Snyder, 96 of Seven Valleys, died Saturday, October 21, 2017 at the York Memorial hospital. She was the wife of the late Wilmer L. Snyder and the late Harvey A. Godfrey. Mrs. Snyder was born on October 4, 1921, a daughter of the late Carl D. and Viola L. (Decker) Appleby. Carolyn was a graduate of William Penn Senior High School class of 1939 and Thompson’s Business School. She was employed in the office at St Regis/Schmidt & Ault Paper Co for 29 years in various clerical positions and Bear’s Department Store, York. She was a lifelong member of Christ Lutheran Church, Loganville, a member of the Loganville-Springfield Senior Citizens Group, and served on the election board for 23 years for Loganville Borough. Carolyn loved spending time with her family, cooking for them, and shopping. She is survived by a daughter, Louann S. Wilson (James) of Glen Rock; a son, Gary D. Godfrey of Seven Valleys; four granddaughters, Amy Stover (Michael), Alicia Baptisti (Matthew), Ashley Wagner (Andrew), and Amanda Wilson; seven great-grandchildren; a step-grandson James Tobin; two step-granddaughters Kris Elkins (Terry), and Michelle Plaia (Todd); and a step-daughter Patti Tobin (Jay). Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday October 27, 2017 at Christ Lutheran Church, 80 S. Main Street, Loganville, with Rev. Douglas L. DeStephano officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Loganville. Viewings will be held from 6 to 8 PM Thursday at Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main Street, Glen Rock and from 10 to 11 AM Friday at the church.
