Carole A. Creager

Carole A. (Bortner) Creager, 71, of York, died December 24, 2018 at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Richard E. “Dick” Creager. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday January 5, 2019, at Mt. Zion "Potosi" United Methodist Church, 10730 Mt. Zion Road, Glen Rock, with Pastors Herbert Hartman and Larry Parlett, officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. at the church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. It is requested that everyone dress casually. The Geiple Funeral Home, Inc. 53 Main St., Glen Rock, is in charge of the arrangements. Carole was born July 24, 1947 and was a daughter of the late Robert A. and Madaline D. (Krebs) Bortner. She graduated in 1965 from Susquehannock High School, Glen Rock, and attended Consolidated School of Business in York. She was employed as an Administrative Assistant with Merrill Lynch York office for over 13 years and with Hanover Direct for two years. She was a member of Mt. Zion Potosi U.M. Church, Glen Rock. Carole leaves a daughter, Shelly E. Orwig of Windsor; a son, Shawn R. Creager of York; four grandchildren, Travis Laughman, Kayla Laughman, Tanner Creager, and Jared Creager; and by two great grandsons who called her “GG”, Landon Ingram and Noah Ingram. She was predeceased by a brother, Burnell R. Bortner. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 10730 Mt. Zion Road, Glen Rock, PA 17327.
