Betty M. Emig

Betty M. (Bohr) Emig of Glen Rock passed away after a prolonged illness on December 21, 2023 at the age of 92. She was the wife of the late John W. Emig for 37 years prior to his passing in 1995.

Betty was born on August 5, 1931 in Shrewsbury Township, PA. She graduated from Codorus Township High School in 1949 and then attended York College. Betty worked for many years as a medical secretary before becoming a homemaker and devoting herself to raising her children.

Betty is survived by her daughter Julia Emig, her son, John W. Emig II; her daughter-in-law Teresa Emig; her three grandchildren Tyler Emig, Sara Emig, and Nicholas Emig, and her brother James Bailey.

The family would like to thank all the wonderful caregivers and medical staff who helped give Betty more time to spend with her family.

Graveside services will be held at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Glen Rock on December 29 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory are recommended to Zion Lutheran Church, 47 Hanover St., Glen Rock, PA 17327. Online condolences may be made at www.geiple.com.
