Betty L. Smith

Betty L. (McClain) Smith, 83 of York, died Sunday August 19, 2018 at Hospice and Community Care, Mt. Joy. She was the wife of the late Charles L. Smith, for 56 years prior to his passing on September 30, 2009. At her request no services are to be held. The Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main Street, Glen Rock is assisting with the arrangements. Mrs. Smith was born on April 10, 1935 in Shrewsbury Township and was a daughter of the late Gerry I. and Florence L. (Geiselman) McClain. She graduated in 1953 from Susquehannock High School and had been employed as an Accounts Payable Clerk with Bon Ton Department Stores and as a Cashier in the Billing Department with York Hospital. Betty loved to travel and has been through out the United States, Europe and Israel. She is survived by a daughter, Barbara A. Bull of Jacobus; four grandchildren, Megan Harbold (Nate), Jarod Bull (Justine), Justin Bull (Michelle), Seth Sterner (Linda); three step great grandchildren, Hadlye Slenker, Carson Harr and Sadie Harr; three great grandchildren, Madison Sterner, Macey Sterner and Mya Bull; and a brother Larry McClain, Brogue.
