Barbara J. Tharp

Barbara J. (Meckley) Tharp, 74, of York, died Wednesday February 13, 2019 at ManorCare North. She was the wife of Robert A. Tharp, with whom she shared 46 years of marriage. Barbara was born on January 27, 1945 in York, she was the daughter of Charles Beard and was adopted by the late Lewis David Meckley and Florence E. (Beard) Meckley. Following cremation, services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Barbara loved watching western shows on TV, especially Gunsmoke. She loved animals and cherished her two cats, Dobby and Tinker. In addition to her husband Robert, she is survived by a son David R. Meckley of York; a daughter Irene E. Siewert of Springfield, Illinois; a sister Darlene Yuengling; and several other loved ones.
