Barbara A. Johnson

Barbara A. Johnson York Barbara A. (Bailey) Johnson, 68, of York, died Wednesday April 1, 2015, at her home following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late William C. Johnson. Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. The Geiple Funeral Home, Inc. 53 Main Street, Glen Rock is in charge of the arrangements. Barb was born on January 28, 1947, a daughter of Mary Ellen (Roser) Bailey of Seven Valleys and the late Stewart M. Bailey. She graduated in the Class of 1964 from Susquehannock High School and had worked as a secretary at Fincor, DynCorp, Hanover Direct and had worked as a research person for the York Newspaper Company and as a Advertising Representative with the former Free Press in the Shrewsbury Office. She was a member of Mt. Zion (Potosi) United Methodist Church and had been active with the Girl Scout Troop in Glen Rock for several years. Besides her mother, she also leaves, two daughters, Michelle A. Reever and her husband, Dale of York and Diane C. Johnston of York, a granddaughter, Victoria Rose Reever; a sister, Cindy L. Lehman of York and two brothers, Stewart M. “Butch” Bailey of Hanover and Edward A. Bailey of Glen Rock. She was predeceased by a son in law, Brian R. Johston. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central PA 745 West Governor Road, Hershey, PA 17033.
