Barbara A. Gamble

Barbara Ann (Thompson) Gamble 85, of Glen Rock. Born May 20th, 1938. Died peacefully on November 18th, 2023, surrounded by family. She was the beloved wife of Leroy J. Gamble.

She was the matriarch of her family and touched the lives of everyone she met. Barbara was a selfless person and was known for her generosity.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children Wayne Smith and wife Jean of Dover, Lori Riddle and husband Bill of Seven Valleys, George Smith of Glen Rock, Lisa Stewart and husband Andy of Glen Rock, and her sister Vicki Hershey and husband Kermit of East York. She was preceded in death by daughter Kathy Kroft of Glen Rock and 8 brothers, Jim, Bill, Ike, Ed, Abe, Alan, Dave, and Dick Thompson. She was the daughter of Ellsworth and Mildred Thompson.

Barbara had 21 amazing grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and nephews and nieces.

Barbara had several careers. She was employed at Mann and Parker Lumber Co. and Sherman Properties. Her most important career was as a caregiver to her children, grandchildren, and neighborhood children. She was deeply loved and will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Barbara dedicated most of her life as the Pennsylvania representative of the Bill Anderson Fan Club. Her country music family was very important, and it is where she met her husband.

Her hobbies included puzzles, quilting and flea marketing. In her youth she was an avid horseback rider and she even drove in a demolition derby.

Service will be on Saturday November 25th, 2023 at Geiple-Predicce Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc., 53 Main Street, Glen Rock, PA 17327
