Arthur L. “Art” Innerst York Arthur L. “Art” Innerst, 91, of Country Meadows at Leader Heights, died Tuesday July 28, 2015 at his home. He was the husband of Norma (Thoman) Innerst, with whom he celebrated a 26th Wedding Anniversary on November 19, 2014 and of the late Mildred (Geist) Innerst who died in 1986. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Salem Lutheran Church, 99 York Road, Jacobus, with his pastor the Rev. Tina Minnich officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Union Cemetery, Jacobus. Viewings will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc. 53 Main Street, Glen Rock and from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Saturday at the church. Mr. Innerst was born on June 29, 1924 in York Township and was a son of the late Noah J. and Lizzie M. (Leader) Innerst. He was employed as a Time Clerk for five years and as a Steel Handler for 20 years with the B.M. Root Company in York, retiring in 1987 and was a lifelong famer in the Leader Heights area of York Township. Art was a lifelong member of Salem Lutheran Church, where he had served on the Church Council and on various other committees. He also was a member of the York Lodge #266 F&AM, Red Lion Scottish Rite Club, Tall Cedars of Lebanon York Forrest #30, Square Club of York #1052, Goodwill Fire Company #1, the Jefferson AARP Chapter #3699 and had been a resident of Country Meadows since 2011. In addition to his wife, he leaves two daughters, Marcia S. Albright and her husband David of Glen Rock, Robin J. Fridy and her husband James of Red Lion; five grandchildren, Stephanie Dorer and husband Mike, Mindy Smith and husband Andrew, Mark Albright, Christine Klinedinst and husband Steven, Sharon West and husband Bruce; Five great-grandchildren, George, Joseph and Kathryn Smith and Ashley and Amber Hershey and a nephew Donald Hartman. He was predeceased by a brother Paul Innerst and a sister Grace Innerst Hartman and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff at Country Meadows for their love and support that they gave to Art the past several years and to Grane Hospice for their care and compassion this past week.
