Ann E. Snyder Spring Grove Ann E. (Stanley) Snyder, 70, of Spring Grove, died Monday December 18, 2017 at York Hospital. She was the wife of Ray A. Snyder with whom she celebrated a 45th wedding anniversary this past June 10th. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at the Church of the Open Door, 8 Carlisle Court, York with Rev. Robert H. Riedy, officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the church. Burial will follow in St. Jacob’s Union Cemetery, York New Salem. Mrs. Snyder was born in Lancaster, PA and was a daughter of the late Edward W. and Iva V. (Lane) Stanley. She graduated in 1965 from Manheim Township High School, Lancaster and from the Davis & Elkins College, Elkins WV in 1969 with a BA degree in English and Social Studies. Ann was employed as an English teacher for 6 years and as a substitute teacher for over 30 years with the Spring Grove Area School District. She was a member of the Church of the Open Door, Shiloh, the Yorktowne Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Golden Nuggets of York. She was a former member of the Woman’s Club of Spring Grove. She helped others by being a proud organ donor with the Gift of Life program. Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, Matthew E. Snyder (Brenda Cunningham) of Hanover and Michael A. Snyder of San Francisco CA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Open Door, (mark for Faith Missions Committee) 8 Carlisle Court, York, PA. 17408 or to the American Cancer Society, 924 N Colonial Ave, York, PA 17403.
