**THIS HAS BEEN POSTPONED DUE TO WEATHER** **GRAVESIDE SERVICE IS NOW MONDAY, JANUARY 7 AT 1PM** On Friday, January 28, 2022 Allen Ensley Judy, 95, of Hanover passed away at Columbia Cottage in Hanover, Pennsylvania. Allen was born in Everett, Pennsylvania on July 30, 1926 to the late David P. and Orpha Jerrel (Furlow) Judy. Allen had 8 brothers all having preceded him in death, Charles Enfield, David Preston, Elmer, Jess Gordon, Alfred Edward, Wayne Delmer, and Wilmer James Judy. He also had 6 sisters, Mary Delena, Nellie Mae, Naomi Ruth, Orpha Jerrel, Martha Elenora and Shirley Louise Judy. All of Allen's sisters have preceded him in death with exception of Martha Elenora (Judy) Foley. At the age of 18 Allen enlisted in the U.S. Army on November 24, 1944. He served in Central Europe as a military policeman for close to 2 years. He received an honorable discharge on August 15, 1946. While serving in the U.S. Army Allen received the following decorations and citations; Good Conduct Medal, European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon, World War II Victory Ribbon and the Army Occupation Medal (Germany). Allen married Elizabeth Pauline George, who preceded him in death, on June 20, 1986. They had one son, Allen Preston Judy, born July 17, 1947, who was tragically killed in an automobile accident on December 10, 1965. Allen worked as a skilled carpenter and maintained a strong work ethic for all of his life. Allen's second marriage was to Cora June (Wade) Judy on May 5, 1988. The two of them learned to square dance together and did so for many years. Allen Ensley Judy is survived by his wife Cora June (Wade) Judy; one sister, Martha Elenora (Judy) Foley; one step son, Al Stroud; 2 granddaughters; 6 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-granddaughter. A graveside funeral service will be held on Monday, February 7th at 1 pm at St. John's United Methodist Church Cemetery, Glenville, Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory are recommended to the Veterans Association at www.va.gov, and click on donate, or to the Hope Baptist Church, 6450 Hope Way, Hanover, Pennsylvania.
