On Tuesday, January 19, 2021, Alice E. "Sally" (Kehm) Bortner, 90, of York, passed away at Manor Care North in York. She was the wife of the late Edward T. Bortner for 35 years before his passing in 1987. She was born on July 9, 1930 in York, to the late Hattie (Taylor) Myers, and was raised by Mamie and Harvey Dise. Sally worked as a receiving inspector for AMP, Inc. for over 28 years until she retired. In her younger years, she enjoyed meeting up with her friends at Country Meadows on Leader Heights to swim in the pool. She enjoyed puzzles, going to the Revs baseball games in York, red roses, and spending time with her grandchildren. Sally had an undying love for a horse named Whiskey, her staff at ManorCare, Her children, but most of all, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her radiant smile will be missed. Alice was a member of Senior Life in York and was affiliated with Immanuel United Methodist Church in Glen Rock. She is survived by 5 children, Harold L. Darr of York, Ronald D. Darr of Broadway, VA, Lorena M. Millwater of York, Alana "Sue" Rugh of York and James D. Bortner of Seven Valleys; 6 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, mother, one daughter, Jennifer Jo Bortner, and one brother, Richard Kehm. A public graveside service will be held on Friday, January 22, at 1pm at Glen Rock Union Cemetery, 350 Church St., Glen Rock. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory are recommended to ManorCare North, 1770 Barley Rd., York, PA 17408.
