Adela E. Miller Shrewsbury Adela E. (Bortner) Miller, 96, of Barbara J. Egan Nursing and Rehab Facility, Shrewsbury, who was formerly of Glenville, died Saturday, December 20, 2014 at the home. She was the wife of the late John E. Miller. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at St. Jacob’s Lutheran Church, 3444 Sticks Road, (Route 216), Glen Rock, PA, with her pastor the Rev. Paula L. Murray officiating. Burial will be in St. Jacob’s (Stone) Church Cemetery, Glenville. A viewing will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Tuesday at the church. Mrs. Miller was born on September 25, 1918 in Glen Rock, a daughter of the late J. Elvin and Alice (Leicht) Bortner. She graduated high school from the Glenville Academy. Adela retired from the Southern School District where she worked as a custodian for many years. She also had been employed by numerous sewing factories in the area and worked at Sterner’s Super Market, Hanover and Folmer’s, Glenville. She was a member of St. Jacob’s Lutheran Church, Glen Rock. She leaves a son, J. Lamar Miller and his wife Carolyn of Glenville; a daughter, Anita K. Lyman and her husband Robert of Montgomery Village, MD; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. She was predeceased by a son, Michael S. Miller and three sisters.
