A. Emma (Stabler) Heinecke, 92, who was formerly of York and Glen Rock, died Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Pleasant Acres Nursing Home, York. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Pine Grove United Methodist Church, 2523 Pine Grove Road, York, with her pastor the Rev. Dr. S. Philip Covert, officiating. Burial will be in Christ Lutheran Church Cemetery, Shrewsbury. Viewings will be held from 7:00 to 9:00 PM Wednesday at the Geiple Funeral Home, Inc, 53 Main Street, Glen Rock and from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Thursday at the church. Mrs. Heinecke was born on November 12, 1924, in Shrewsbury Township, a daughter of the late Clovies J. and Lillie M. (Brodbeck) Stabler. She graduated in 1942 from Glen Rock High School and received her Registered Nurse degree from Maryland General Hospital in 1945. Emma was employed as an RN at York Hospital, working on 7-South and on the Maternity floor, following which she was a Private Duty Nurse for in the York Area for many years and had worked at Rest Haven-York for several years. She was a member of Pine Grove United Methodist Church, where she served as the former head of the Nursery Department and was a member of the Ladies Sunshine Group of the church. She also was a member of the Yorktowne Senior Center and was a member and past president of the York County Private Duty Nurses Association. She was a former member of the Triangle Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star #483, Shrewsbury. She also attended Zion Lutheran Church, Glen Rock and Shrewsbury Lutheran Church, Shrewsbury at one time. She is survived two daughters, Brenda E. Miller and her husband, David of York and Frederica A. Mundis of Glen Rock; five grandchildren, Michelle Mundis, Ryan Mundis, Christiaan Miller, Jonathan Miller, and Benjamin Miller; and five great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sisters, Kathryn I. Stabler and Margaret E. Stabler her brother, Jared C. "Bud" Stabler and her son in law, Michael W. Mundis.
